UPDATE: Toms Creek RainReady Presentation and Discussion February 13, 2020
The Town has been working recently with the Center for Neighborhood Technology (CNT) on a pilot study in the Toms Creek watershed to develop recommendations for a "RainReady" program to address the runoff and flooding issues being experienced. A survey was recently completed, and CNT has been gathering additional information to inform their recommendations to the Town. A meeting was held on February 13th for CNT to share the results of their work to date, and for community members to have a chance to ask questions and provide additional input to inform the completion of the pilot study. (The presentation from the meeting can be found in the "Related Documents" section below. The session was videotaped, and is available at this link [pending].)
There have been flooding concerns for properties located along Toms Creek since the 1980s. In the past decade, there have been multiple storm events, and the Town has been placing increased attention on these concerns. The purpose of this page is to provide a resource for citizens interested in this topic to learn more, keep apprised as new activities are pursued, and to provide input. Please check back as information will be regularly updated.
An information session was held on June 26th. Related information is provided in the documents below, and a video of the session is available at this link.
