    September 19, 2017, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Carrboro Century Center - Century Hall

    Parents and young children (5 & under) can come enjoy some unstructured playtime in the spacious Century Hall. There will be music to dance to, blocks, crawl tunnels, and other toys to play with and plenty of space. It will be a great opportunity to meet new friends and playmates. No registration required. Ages: 1-5

  5. Critter Carnival

    September 23, 2017, 12:00 PM - 7:30 PM @ Southern Community Park

    On Saturday, September 23, 2017, the inaugural Critter Carnival (formerly Furry Friends Festival) will be held at Southern Community Park in Chapel Hill, NC to raise awareness and funds for numerous local animal rescue and rehabilitation charities. From Noon to 7:30pm a wide variety of first-rate rock, bluegrass and jazz bands will perform alongside amazing aerial silk artists, hula hoopers, sideshow freaks and more. Admission is FREE! Musical acts: KATHARINE WHALEN’S SWEDISH WOOD PATROL (from Squirrel Nut Zippers!) BULLTOWN STRUTTERS FIRESIDE COLLECTIVE TRIPLE FRET THE BUCKET BROTHERS (See band bios & videos here) Circus acts: Adam Dipert’s Object Manipulation The Creep & Cheetah SideShow Mari Kearns and many more to be announced!     Spice up your weekend at the 10th Annual Pepper Festival!  One of the largest chef competitions in North Carolina, the Pepper Fest heats up with a fresh array of pepper-themed dishes and brews, family activities, a kid chef competition and zesty live music! Join us on September 24, 3-6 p.m., as chefs compete with one-of-a-kind recipes, featuring the locally bred and grown North Carolina pepper. From pepper chocolate to pepper donuts, you’ll see a dizzying collection of dishes from culinary stars like Watt’s Grocery and La Farm Bakery along with bold brews from the likes of Fullsteam, Carolina Brewery, Mystic and more! Eat your fill while enjoying the musical line up of rock and Americana bluegrass with Lindsay Lou and the Flatbellies and The Piedmont Regulators. Proceeds benefit Abundance NC, a nonprofit that supports sustainable food, fuels and more than 200 farmers across the state.

    This youth disc golf clinic gives parents and children the opportunity to learn together about the sport of disc golf including rules, etiquette, the basics of throwing discs, and tips and techniques.
