CARRBORO, N.C. – Mayor Damon Seils has proclaimed Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023, as Fitch Lumber Company Day “in gratitude for 100 years of service to the people of Carrboro and invaluable contributions to the life and spirit of our community.”
Founded in 1923, Fitch Lumber Company is Carrboro’s oldest industry in operation today and is the town’s second oldest business. David, John and Miles Fitch run the company with 35 employees and continue the tradition of excellent customer service, innovation and service to the community.
Fitch Lumber Company is a Carrboro-owned and -operated business that has long contributed to the local economy. They have been a certified Orange County Living Wage Employer since 2018 and have shown concern for the community, donating goods to schools, churches and charities to support community projects.
