PUBLIC MEETING ON BLASTING FOR THE
ROGERS ROAD AREA SEWER PROJECT

Throughout the recent months there has been significant work to remove the underground rock from the sewer path for the Rogers Road Area Sewer Project in Carrboro’s jurisdiction. Unfortunately, the rock that has been encountered is extremely dense and has not reacted well to mechanical methods of removal (e.g. hoe-ramming and rock grinding). As such, the Rogers Road team has evaluated all alternatives and, in coordination with Town of Carrboro staff and elected officials, has decided to move forward with low-intensity underground blasting for rock removal near Tallyho Trail. In preparation of low-intensity underground blasting, the Rogers Road Project Team is hosting a final public meeting to discuss the proposed blasting and answer any additional questions and concerns from the community.
The Public Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 27th at 6PM at the Faith Tabernacle Oasis of Love Church located at 8005 Rogers Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27516.
We know this sewer project has been a long time coming, and we look forward to its completion. If you have questions, comments, or concerns about this sewer project, please contact me at the number or email below. If you are unable to attend the meeting but have questions or concerns, please also contact me at the number or email below. We look forward to meeting with the community.
With best regards,
