Transfer of Stormwater Management Duties from Environmental Advisory Board to Stormwater Advisory Commission
A Stormwater Advisory Commission was established in September (APPLY NOW!) and this administrative change was necessary to transfer duties over from the Environmental Advisory Board.
Presentation on the Orange County Master Aging Plan
Janice Tyler, the Executive Director of the Orange County Council on Aging, presented the recommendations of the plan to the Board. The Board of Aldermen asked for staff to further research signing onto the AARP Framework for an Age-Friendly Community.
Colorful Crosswalk Designs and Locations
The Board of Aldermen approved the installation of a rainbow designed crosswalk at the mid-block crossing along East Weaver Street in front of Weaver Street Market and Market Street Coffee and Ice Cream. The design will incorporate black and brown stripes into the flag, like the city of Philadelphia flag released during the summer, in recognition of LGBTQ people of color. Additional locations with different designs are being further discussed by staff.
The next Board of Aldermen meeting will be November 14, 2017
