Curbside Collection of Yard Waste:
Curbside collection of yard waste is provided about twice per month according to schedule below and does not require you to call to schedule a collection. Limbs up to 3 feet long and 4 inches in diameter will be collected in a pile. Piles that will take 1 person longer than 10 minutes to collect (about a small pick up truck load) will have a fee assessed by the Solid Waste Supervisor and a door hanger placed on your door. Piles requiring a fee will be collected within two (2) business days upon receipt of payment. You may also dispose of smaller yard debris such as grass and leaves (no dirt) as follows:

• In your yard waste roll-out container (see below to find out how to get one)
• In up to 8 plastic bags per collection day
• In an unlimited number of paper yard waste bags per collection day
• In a clean (uncontaminated) container of your choice
• Filled bags/containers (other than roll-out containers) must not weigh more than 50 pounds

The containers are 95 gallon capacity and may be purchased from the Town Hall receptionist at 301 W. Main Street. You may print a Yard Waste Container Order Form and mail along with a check. Public Works will deliver the container to your residence within 2 business days of receipt of payment.

To use the online form, follow these steps -
Step 1: Download and print the Yard Waste Container Order Form.
Step 2: Mail completed form and check to Carrboro Town Hall, Attn. Yard Waste Container, 301 W. Main St., Carrboro, NC 27510.

• There will be no yard waste collection during the week of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Also, yard waste may be cancelled or delayed due to inclement weather.
• If the town is unable to collect your yard waste on the scheduled Wednesday, please leave it curbside and it will be collected on Thursday or Friday afternoon. If it is not collected by Friday at 3:30, please call the Solid Waste Supervisor at (919) 918-7433 or email: solidwaste@townofcarrboro.org to see why it was not collected.
