Public Hearing on Town Manager’s Recommended Budget for FY2020-21
The Council reviewed a recommended $70.8 million budget during a public hearing to receive community input. This budget document is posted for public review. The proposal is a balanced budget. It does not create any increase in taxes for Carrboro property owners, and includes a stormwater fee increase. The Council is scheduled to adopt the budget on June 23.  

COVID-19’s Disproportionate Effects on Blacks, Latinos and Other Underserved and Marginalized Communities
The Council welcomed community members who shared their perspectives and experiences on how COVID-19 is affecting their lives. The Council is considering solutions that can be integrated in the recovery efforts and provide relief to vulnerable populations in Carrboro and Orange County. This discussion will continue on June 9.

Text Amendments to the Land Use Ordinance Relating to Residential Uses in the B-1(c) District
The Town Council adopted changes to the Land Use Ordinance relating to residential uses in the B-1(c) Zoning District. This action supports an affordable housing development at 104 Cobb St. that is designed for seniors and families.

Carrboro United Relocation 
The Council approved a request from Carrboro United to sponsor its food pick-up service at Carrboro High School. Learn more about Carrboro United at carrborounited.com  

Increased Outdoor Dining Space and Other Actions to Support Businesses Opening Under Social Distancing Requirements
The Council authorized actions that could be taken to support phased opening as COVID-19-related restrictions on business operations are eased.
