Currently, the contractor for the Historic Rogers Road Area sewer has located underground utilities, cleared some of the construction areas, and installed silt fencing and tree protection fencing as well as installed sewer pipe for approximately 30% of the project. The contractor is now ready to install pipe along the portion of the project that is on the south side of Tallyho Trail.
In order to remove some larger rocks along this portion of the project where the sewer will need to be installed, our contractor is planning to do some low-intensity underground blasting south of Tallyho Trail (the exact locations will be marked with signs and our contractor will keep the area clear during all blasting and construction activities).
In preparation for the low-intensity underground blasting, the Rogers Road Partners are hosting a public meeting to explain the blasting plan and the associated safeguards and to address the community’s concerns about this part of the work.
The Public Meeting is scheduled for March 1st at 6PM at the Faith Tabernacle Oasis of Love Church located at 8005 Rogers Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27516.
We look forward to meeting with the community and discussing the progress of construction as well as the upcoming rock removal work.
We know this sewer project has been a long time coming, and we look forward to its completion. If you have questions, comments, or concerns about this sewer project, please contact Allison with OWASA.
