"What Baseball/Softball Means to Me" Essay Contest
Mayor Lydia Lavelle is excited to announce an essay contest that is open to all elementary, middle and high school students that reside in Carrboro. Students should write an essay, or poem, about what baseball or softball means to them. The essay or poem should be no more than 300 words. All pieces should be original works by the author. Winners will be announced in three categories based on current grade. Winners will be recognized during a Board of Aldermen meeting in June. This contest is a partnership with the MLB Play Ball Initiative with the US Conference of Mayors. Carrboro is a proud Play Ball City.
Entries: 300 word essay or poem. Due by June 15th submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org. Entrants should specify their current grade and include their Carrboro address.
