  3. The Town of Carrboro is seeking a muralist to work with a student artist(s) to coordinate a Black Lives Matter/End Racism Now mural on the Community Worx building in Carrboro. The mural will be completed by student(s) that reside in Carrboro and/or are members of the Youth Advisory Board, Carrboro Youth Council, or NAACP Youth Organization.

  4. Purpose:

    Depict the Town's commitment and support to Black Lives Matter/End Racism Now.

  5. Description of the Event:

    Create and paint a mural on the side of the Community Worx building that faces Main Street. Mural Area Location and Specifications: Proposed mural space - total of 718 sq. ft. From the building closest to the road (four segments)
    Near the ramp – 162sq ft.
    Under large window – 38 sq. ft.
    Section with the frosted cube glass is – 134 sq. ft.
    Largest section with the breezeway opening and open air window – 384 sq. ft.

  11. Criteria:

    Preference given to muralist that resides in Carrboro. Submit at least two electronic samples of your work. You will be notified if selected and immediately begin working as a member of the coordination team. You will review mural rendering entries and, along with the Carrboro Arts Committee, provide input and recommendations on the top two entries.
