Sara Claytor

Sara ClaytorSara Claytor, former teacher of literature, writing, and communications at various North Carolina universities and public school systems, holds two graduate degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Living mostly in small southern towns, many of their mores/circumstances dominate in her poems and fiction. Her previous books include Reviving the Damsel FishMemory BonesCarrboro Poetica, and Howling on Red Dirt Roads, one of two books recognized by the Poetry Council of North Carolina in 2008. She has worked as a fiction editor and as co-editor of the former Internet journal The Moonwort Review. For years she has been active with the North Carolina Poetry Society, serving on its board in various capacities, and coordinating its Reading Series at McIntyre’s Fine Books near Chapel Hill.
