The Carrboro Town Council will meet for a work session at 7 p.m. Tuesday May 14. The agenda is available at https://ecs.page.link/27zNm
The purpose of this work session is to provide Council an update on the 2024-2025 FY Budget development, recommend strategies and actions related to Council priorities outlined in the Council Retreat, explain budget considerations for FY 2024-2025, and seek Council direction in preparation for the Final Budget recommendation for the Town of Carrboro.
The Council meets for work sessions the second Tuesdays of most months. Public comment is generally not accepted during work sessions, and votes are not taken.

Recap of Past Meetings
The Council met on Tuesday, May 7, and took the following actions on the agenda posted at https://ecs.page.link/uvzHB
- Authorized an hourly rate increase in contract with Brough Law Firm.
- Authorized the awarding of a contract to Environmental Air Systems DBA Envirotrol for replacement of the Century Center chiller and Direct Digital Control (DDC) system upgrades.
- Set a public hearing for June 18 on revised text amendments to the Land Use Ordinance relating to cafes and residential density in certain zoning districts.
- Received a summary of matters discussed during the Carrboro Town Council 2023-2024 retreat that took place Feb. 3, 2024. Important topics of discussion include council priorities for the LUO rewrite, the FY24-25 budget, and Council norms.
- Received a report on the status of comprehensive plan implementation and other priorities, including the anticipated scope and general schedule for updating the Town’s land use regulations.
