The Carrboro Recreation, Parks & Cultural Resources Department will be re-opening the Carrboro Century Center at 100 N. Greensboro St. for limited indoor programming and reservations beginning the week of May 17, 2021.
The following updates are being provided on both indoor and outdoor programming and facilities:
INDOOR PROGRAMMING
Limited indoor programming with controlled access in the Carrboro Century Center will begin the week of May 17th. All activities/rooms will initially operate at 30% capacity and these limits will apply to both Town programs and reservations. All state and local health guidelines will be followed.
Recreation, Parks, & Cultural Resources activities are being modified to comply with current state and local guidelines. Modifications include reduced class sizes, increased social distancing, mask requirements, increased hand sanitizing, etc. More specific modifications may be made depending on the nature of the activity.
Following each activity, rooms will be sanitized before the next use.
Century Center Access
Facility access will remain limited to enrolled activity participants and approved reservations. Doors will remain locked and staff will be on hand to facilitate access to the building.
Residents wishing to conduct business in person will need to make an appointment by contacting the department at 919.918.7364 in advance.
All participants and visitors to the facility will be required to answer health screening questions and receive a temperature check.
OUTDOOR PROGRAMMING
Outdoor programming will continue operating in the manner in which it has since last summer/fall with activities being modified to comply with current state and local guidelines. Modifications include reduced class sizes, increased social distancing, masks when social distancing cannot be achieved, increased hand sanitizing, etc. More specific modifications may be made depending on the nature of the activity.
Park and Outdoor Facility Reservations
All park facilities, including pavilions and athletic fields/courts, are open and available for reservations. Events and reservations are considered on a case-by-case basis. All state and local guidelines must be followed and may require an approved COVID plan from the Orange County Health Department.
Town Spring and Summer Special Events
The larger Town-sponsored special events for the spring and early summer will be presented virtually. These include the following:
