2/28 10AM UPDATE:
Carrboro Public Works crews have worked throughout the night to clean up remaining areas that were snow covered. Some small random areas remain covered, so drivers should still drive with caution. Crews are out Saturday morning to make one last round, treating icing on roads, and checking for spots that need additional plowing. Plow trucks will complete the last shift around noon Saturday. Public Works crews will be on duty overnight to treat icing on roadways, as temperatures are expected to produce black ice again. There is also a chance of freezing rain. Tune in to local weather stations for the latest reports.
2/27 7PM UPDATE:
Carrboro Public Works crews have worked throughout the day to clear all remaining roadways in town. Crews will continue throughout the night cleaning up intersections and widening previously plowed roadways. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for black ice until Saturday at 10AM. Motorists should drive with extreme caution this evening through Saturday morning. Public Works crews will be on duty overnight to treat icing on roadways.
2/27 7AM UPDATE:
Carrboro Public Works crews have been on duty overnight to continue plowing efforts, and have treated areas with black ice. There are numerous areas throughout town with black ice this morning. Motorists should drive with extreme caution, especially when approaching intersections, curves, bridges, and hills. Crews will be out again Friday to continue clearing streets. Public Works asks that residents move their vehicles that have been parked on public streets since Wednesday so the plow teams can clear these areas. Moving a vehicle to an area that has already been plowed is a big help to the plow teams.
2/26 7PM UPDATE:
Carrboro Public Works continues to clear streets in Town. As of 6PM, most roads in town are cleared, but several side streets remain unplowed. Public Works will try to have all streets opened up by midnight. Crews will keeping working through the night into Friday to continue clearing the remaining roadways, and clean up previously cleared roads. Motorists should avoid any unnecessary travel, and drive with caution if necessary. Black ice will likely be present in many areas. Public Works asks that Carrboro residents avoid parking on roadways if possible to help the plow teams clear the streets.

The Triangle area is under a Winter Storm Warning until Thursday at noon. Several inches of snow are forecasted for our area. Carrboro Public Works will have staff on duty Wednesday evening, and will work until all streets are clear. Motorists should avoid any unnecessary travel, and drive with caution if necessary. Public Works asks that Carrboro residents avoid parking on roadways if possible to help the plow teams clear the streets.

2/24 7PM UPDATE:
Carrboro Public Works has cleared most major roadways in town as of 6PM, and will continue overnight to clear the remaining roads. Black ice will likely be present with overnight temperatures dropping into the lower 20's. Motorists are encouraged to drive with caution. Public Works will monitor the weather forecast for Wednesday and Thursday, and will provide additional updates. A Winter Storm Watch has already been issued in the Triangle area for tomorrow evening.

Town of Carrboro administrative offices are closing at 1:00PM on Tuesday (2/24)
The triangle area is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 10PM this evening. Carrboro Public Works is currently out treating slick spots on roadways. Motorists should avoid any unnecessary travel and drive with caution while out today.
