CARRBORO, NC -- Mayor Lydia Lavelle has proclaimed June 2021 as "Immigrant Heritage Month” in Carrboro.
“I encourage all residents to respect and honor the many contributions that immigrants have made in our community and country,” Mayor Lavelle said.
The Town of Carrboro is very appreciative of local non-profits and other groups that work with our immigrant community, including El Centro Hispano and the Refugee Support Center.
Generations of immigrants from around the word have built our country’s economy and created the unique character of our nation, and immigrants continue to grow businesses, innovate, and strengthen our economy.
