Update from the Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA)
Work for the East Main Street Sewer Rehabilitation Project is scheduled to restart at 7 a.m. Saturday (April 2) and continue through 4 p.m. Saturday (April 2).
The project is shifting into the restoration phase after installing the new sewer line through the project area.
Work on Saturday, April 2, will consist of paving work beginning in the intersection of South Greensboro Street and East Main Street. Flaggers will be on site to allow traffic to move through that intersection.
The paving operation will then move along East Main Street toward the intersection with Roberson Street, and the South Greensboro Street intersection will be fully opened. It is expected that the contractor will have to close East Main Street to vehicle traffic between South Greensboro Street and Roberson Street to allow for the paving to be carried out safely during that segment of the work.
We understand this is a big weekend in the community with the historic Final Four matchup, and we are working to be out of the roadway by 4 p.m. Saturday.
Please keep in mind that while this work is going on, the local businesses will be open along East Main Street. Sidewalk and parking lot access is expected to be open throughout the project. Thank you for your patience while this critical infrastructure investment is completed!
